Our Executive Team

Rev. Dr. Eugene Johnson, Chair

 

Rev. Dr. Eugene Johnson is the Senior Pastor of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Centreville, Virginia.  He has served in this pastoral position since November 1992.  He is a native Louisianan who was born in New Orleans and was reared in the suburban community of Oakville, Louisiana. He currently resides in Centreville, Virginia. 

 

Dr. Johnson completed his advanced academic studies at Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA where he received a Bachelors of Architecture Degree in June 1970. His seminary study was completed at the Howard University School of Divinity where he earned a Masters of Divinity Degree in 1989.  He was conferred the prestigious Honorary Doctors of Divinity Degree by the Richmond Virginia Seminary in October 2006.

 

Besides the work of God, Dr. Johnson prides his life most on the love of his family. He is married to the former June L. Lambert of Harvey, LA. They have been blessed with two sons, Brian and Kevin and are the proud Grandparents of Marley and Jadin. 

Rev. Jim Harden, Chaplain 

 

Chaplain Rev. Jim Harden, a native of Miami Florida, accepted Christ in 1957. He holds a BS from Wayland Baptist University, a MA from Webster University, and a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. He is a highly decorated retired US Air Force officer, with over 30 year’s distinguished military service. 

 

Rev. Harden is currently an associate minister at Antioch Baptist Church, in Fairfax Station, VA. He and his wife are the Co-Founding Directors of the Antioch Bible Institute (ABI). He serves in the Missions and Outreach, Christian Education, HIV/AIDS Prevention, and Prison ministries. 

 

He has been happily married to Dr. J. Taylor Harden for over 39 years, with two daughters, five grand and 2 great-grand children.  

Rev. Eugene E. Pearson, Treasurer

Pastor Eugene E. Pearson is the Pastor of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church located in Aldie, Virginia.  In November 2001, Pastor Pearson announced his call to the preaching ministry and received his certificate of license to preach the Gospel on April 21, 2002 by the late Reverend, Dr. Harold E. Trammell, Pastor of the Mt. Jezreel Baptist Church, Silver Spring, MD.  Reverend Pearson was ordained on July 10, 2004 by his father, Reverend Eugene M. Pearson, Pastor of the New Second Baptist Church in Washington D.C.  As an intern at the St. Stephen Baptist Church in Temple Hills, MD, under the leadership of Bishop Lanier C. Twyman, he was called to pastor Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and was installed on October 5th 2008.  He is a member of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Northern Virginia and Vicinity, and is an Executive Board Member of the Northern Virginia Baptist Association of Churches (NVBA) as well as the NVBA Regional 7 president.  
 
Pastor Pearson holds an Associate of Arts degree in Architectural Technology from Montgomery College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from The Catholic University of America, and a Masters of Divinity Degree from The Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
 
Pastor Pearson lives in Olney, Maryland and is married to Marietta “Mardy” Pearson who he considers to be his “Blessed Love Forever!”  Pastor Pearson is also the proud father of their son David Michael and their daughter Jocelyn Kathleen.
